I keep my flowerhorns at 80 degrees. Some people keep them warmer but I don't see a reason to do so. I've grown out most of my flowerhorns in their full sized tank. Many people say to keep them in smaller tanks and move them up as they grow. I prefer the larger tank because it's way easier to keep nitrates down, which I feel helps with a healthy fish. Also, avoid food branded specifically for flowerhorns. They are usually full of fillers and poor quality. I've been feeding Fluval Bug Bites cichlid and have been super happy with it.Starting my 75G from scratch. The tank is cycling and I’m leaning towards getting a flowerhorn and keep the tank bare. I do have a couple questions:
What are the recommended water perameters?
If getting the flowerhorn at a small size should I get a temporary tank (10g-20g) first?
