I will buy him. I've got an empty 55 gallon. What are you asking?!

I'm a simple "click and shoot" kinda of guy. Anything is better then my pictures. I think having suspended Marimos would look nice in that tank with him.

LOL Cichlidnut, you don't want to know. This guy is by far my most expensive fish that I own right now.

AP, I've seen some of your pictures! You can't fool me lol. He actually does have a marimo that he rolls around the bottom of his tank when he wants to be fed.

Hahahaha that's not how I would describe it. More like "Gimme the worm or the algae dies!" I think he actually is trying to tear it apart but can't get a good grip on it.

It's not just the color, its the grade. It's a high grade FH that I need to come to Florida and steal.

Titanium Flowerhorns are not extremely common but they are not extremely rare either. This one was really expensive because of three reasons. #1 He carries the pearling gene. #2 He is a gold eye FH. #3 He is the type of Titanium that changes color. He is also a very high grade FH. His parents are from unrelated lines and apparently their offspring is very sought after in Asia.

EDIT: Cichlidnut you ninjad me!

Just so you know I've studied martial arts since I was 4 and am also trained in knife artistry. I have 36 throwing knives and am very accurate LOL.
are you going to breed him?
I was thinking of it but now I'm thinking of selling him.

I know sloth style kung fu. Also, I am a ninja. Ninjas are trained to evade your puny knives.

I just can't leave you kids unsupervised can i? No throwing knives, NO, BAD fishlorians. NOW, until this is resolved ill hold onto the FH for safe keeping.

I'm completely innocent in this matter LOL. Hehe How are you going to keep him exactly?

LOL I don't think I will. I would have to get an equally high quality female if I was to breed him. And I'm not looking to drop another $375 on a 2" fish. Plus females are more expensive so it would be more than that.

Imagine the possibilities though with two sought after high quality Flowerhorns breeding multiplying like crazy ;-)

LOL the largest FH market is in Asia so I'd have to export them if I bred them. Which is isn't very logical.

Cichlidnut, no way! You're mean

GemstonePony
  • #106
But... If they had babies you wouldn't need to sell them for a ton to recoup the cost of selling them, would you?(says someone who has never seen a FH up-close and personal ever).. Besides, if they are so sought-after wouldn't the buyer pay the cost of exportation? And.. and.. there might be someone in the US somewhere who would buy one.

Haha no but if I breed them I'll end up with 100s of baby high quality FHs. That means a lot of highquality food and a lot of money put into tanks to house them before they can sell. So I'd have to sell them for a good price. ;D Asians rarely import from America. If they want something they can pretty much find it in Asia.

We export a lot of Soy to Asia! lol

Ornamental fish on the other hand... yeah not so much.

I'd rather stay semi-rich thanks! LOL I don't feel like spending thousands of dollars on fish I won't be able to profit from haha.

See this is where I come in. I just need to convince mom to let me have a 60-75gal tank(that's the minimum right?) and I can keep him....as a pet....

55g is the minimum for one. Bigger is better though. Your mother would probably hunt me down and hurt me if you try to get the FH from me.

Update on Blue! He has been moved to my insulated barn lol. Got a new filter and bigger tank too. He's not terribly happy with me moving him out there though because there isn't anyone to keep him company. I might just bring him back and move the tetras out. He is very social. His colors are amazing though!! His fins are nearly black for some reason. He is growing like crazy.

Ouch! And 15" is pretty high- I hope you have a really sight hood, or else an extremely low water level.

So, how about some pictures of those teeth?arky
