Flourish excel root tabs

HI FL!

I just have a quick question..
Shout I buy a bag of flourish excel tabs?
I'm not using a nutrient based substrate and I'm currently running some high lighting, with a DIY CO2 along with dosing with liquid flourish excel every other day.

I was wondering if it would be worth about $10 to try the tabs in collaboration with the liquid excel and DIY co2?

Thanks!!!

My ludwigia palustris has already got back up! I lost a large amount of the leafs in the beginning of having it but I split the stems and re planted them separately under the t5ho dual and started to dose liquid excel and since the DIY co2 and excel, this plant has been picking right back up

I would definitely add the root tabs in this setup, with T5HO lighting and CO2 your plants are going to suck up nutrients greedily.

Makes sense! The more, the better

I'm curious as to why you use Excel and DIY CO2?

A few things....

To prevent any confusion, the Seachem root tabs are called Seachem Flourish root tabs. Excel is the name of their liquid CO2 substitute.

Root tabs are great for root feeding plants. Ludwigia is somewhat of a root feeder so it would benefit, not sure about what other plants you have. Anything that establishes a root system would benefit.

As for using DIY CO2 and Excel, many people do this. It make sure there is plenty of CO2 for the plants. DIY CO2 can be inconsistent in the amount of CO2 produced and these varying amount of CO2 can sometimes promote algae. Using Excel helps keep the CO2 available to the plants more stable and Excel is an algaecide so it directly inhibits algae growth.

I've used Excel directly on some long green hairy like algae and it killed it. I intend fill a small spray bottle to get rid of all the algae and always keep so as a back up. Excel is a great algaecide.
