Flourish Comp and Amano Shrimp

I just got some Flourish Comprehensive and dosed 0.6ml into my 10 gallon planted tank (didn't want to start with the full dose). I checked back on the tank and I saw one of my amano shrimp flipped over on its side in the corner, with another sitting beside it. Now the flipped over one has stood up again, but they're both still huddled in the corner, not moving.

Help! What should I do? Water change? I thought this fertilizer was safe with shrimp, it has a tiny bit of copper but from my research, people said it wouldn't affect shrimp. This isn't even a full dose.

See if a 50 percent water change perks them up. It may not be the comprehensive but it could be. You can also add prime to help lock out any heavy metals in the tank

I will do one tonight and update then, I'm almost certain it's the culprit. They were absolutely fine before, and within an hour of adding the Flourish they start hiding in the corner and not moving. I haven't had these guys that long but I've actually grown attached to the little buggers :-\

EDIT: Actually, looking at the tank now, one of the shrimp is acting a little more normal, but the other still isn't moving. Hmm.

And all your parameters are ok?

Yes, 0-0-20 as normal. Both were fine before dosing, doing typical shrimp stuff.

Although now one shrimp seems to have recovered. The other is still in the corner not moving and kind of twitching one of its back legs.

Hmm... very strange because many people including myself have dosed Flourish Comp with no issues with their shrimp. And it's not like you used it at full dosage.

Yeah, I checked many sources before adding it to the tank, everyone says their shrimp are fine with it as well. I'm really hoping the other shrimp will recover, it may just be me but it seems a little better. Fish are all fine, even the fry.

Did you "acclimate" your shrimp to it?

No, not at all. I had been dosing Comp even before I got the shrimp. I even dosed Excel with no issues.

Well, both are back to normal, no water change necessary. Not sure what was going on but I'm glad they got over it!
