HI all

I've been battling with white floating things in my tank for weeks, I've tried everything from half water changes, full water changes, changing the gravel and for a few days all is good then it comes back.

It's doing my head in!

Is there something I can use to catch these floating particles?

This is what it looks like when it's landed.

But it's also floating about its driving me nuts!

How much are you feeding? Could you be overfeeding?

Filter floss in the filter might help. It also might be a good idea to do a thorough cleaning of the filter (and rinse the media in old tank water or dechlorinated water!).

Not over feeding. He eats only shrimp which he eats off my finger. No waste.

Done that twice. It clears up lovely for about three days then comes back.

Do you have an open tank, or do you have a lid?

It's coming from somewhere, and my bet is the filter if you have a top on the tank.

What size tank and what kind of filter do you have? Agree that floss can help catch those smaller particles.

It's a partly open top as its a Marina 360 for my Betta.

The filter is the one that came with it, I wanted to change it but the way it's made its quite impossible to do so though it's not a bad filter in all honesty. It's powerful on top speed but I have to have it turned right down because it's too strong for him otherwise.
