    Hi guys!

I'm about 2 weeks away from setting up my shrimp tank.
I'll have cherry shrimp in a 5 gallon (Fluval Spec).

Are floating plants (dwarf water lettuce) a bad idea for a shrimp tank?
Will the shrimp use the floating plants to climb up and out of the tank?

    Thanks for your help!

I have kept amano shrimp with duckweed and salvinia before no problem but with a tight fitting lid (which all shrimp tanks should have)

I think that should be ok. Really for a shrimp to get out of that they'd have to climb up the wall then hang onto the bottom of the lid and crawl to the gap. I think you'll be fine, floating plants or not :)
