Flexible Gravel Cleaner?

Hello,

So I am still cycling my aquarium, and I did try to clean the gravel a couple of time because it got very full of detritus. However, since the Aquarium hast some big roots in it and quite a few plants, the long, solid gravel cleaner I have can only reach about 20% of the gravel. On of the roots forms sort of bridge, with only about 10cm space, and I cannot get in there with the massive tool I have. Same problem for the space in between rocks, plants, etc.

Question is - what gravel cleaner do you recommend that would solve this issue? Or maybe some ideas how to make a custom one?

I attached a photo of the aquarium.

Beautiful tank!

How deep is the tank and how many gallons in it? You could try a minI gravel vacuum, but it might not be long enough. Or just some tubing that you create a suction(put one end in water and suck on the other end until water starts flowing through it, then place that end in a bucket.) in, and suck out the debris.

Thanks!
it's a 180L, 50cm tall. I thought about going for a simple tubing, but I'm worried it will suck all the gravel out (it's quartz crystal 2mm). With the normal pump the gravel already goes in, but being wide, I just lift it a bit and falls back down.

Yeah, I thought about that too. Personally I'd try a minI gravel vacuum, there is some that have only a 1 inch diameter at the end. They also are cheap, and not very powerful, so they won't suck up your substrate.

I'll give one a try then! Thanks for the suggestion!

Keep in mind it might not work, but I think it will! Most minis are only like 5 dollars, so even if it doesn't work, it's not a huge loss.

Your welcome!
