FIXED - New post problem

I just tried to post a reply to a thread and got a screen that said "You post will be invisible until approved by a moderator", etc, etc.

Re: not letting me post

it has worked! Same here tho, btw. I can't see my own posts. Once ive pressed to post it I get a message saying

"Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting. You will now be taken back to the forum. If you opted to post a poll, you will now be allowed to do so."

Re: not letting me post

Excellent, I was worried you were looking at testing a pre posted check system, and that would have been a huge back log of posts and just plain frustrating for posters and mods I am sure hehe.

Moderator approval

I hope nobody minds but I'm going to move all the questions of this type to this one thread.
I've just spent the last hour doing moderator approvals so if we can get one answer or question in one place instead of 6 spread out it would help alot.

Re: Moderator approval

You could even delete the one I made if wanted, was just kinda wondering what was going on, but all seems to be good now

Re: Moderator approval

This is a mistake. It's just an accident that happens when resetting things. Mike's already fixed some, and I'm sure he's working on the rest.

Re: Moderator approval

Sorry for the 'Chicken Little' panic, but while I'm all for upgrades whenever they happen, and in fact see the potential for this revamping of Fishlore, I'm against censorship in any form being introduced to this site aside from the language filters in place, which I do support.. that would be too big a change to absorb for many Fishloreans.

BTW.. I see a reply that I'd posted a couple of hours ago to Fishlover1's query in the FWBeginners section and a reply to Mike in an earlier post about still not being able to access a spellcheck function, have yet to appear on those threads.. I shall be patient and check back in a few days when hopefully most of these teething problems have been sorted out.. but please folks, no censorship on Fishlore.. unless the Taliban or some North Korean mad man has taken it over, LOL.

Re: Moderator approval

Sorry, while messing with the user groups to prevent PM spam I negelected to check this setting off. I've approved all posts that were in the moderation queue and you shouldn't see this prob going forward. I apologize for the mixup.

Also, the only censorship that will take place here will be on content that is not appropriate for minors. Being a public forum, we have to censor curse words, inappropriate links, etc. See the Hot Topics boards.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: not letting me post

I was actually configuring the member groups to disallow PM's for people with less than 50 posts to prevent spam. We had a spammer abuse the PM system here awhile back and I don't want that to happen again. There are many other hooks in place to prevent spam, I just wanted to add another. But in doing so neglected to turn this setting off.
