fishlore status?

??? so for the past week or so I have been a fish bum, now this morning i'm back to being a fishlore newbie? not that i'm bothered, newbie is probably more appropriate, so i'm guessing the mods have been playing change around? right? tut lol

Everyone that was a fish master is now a fishlore VIP

 

Mike is changing the settings so the forum has less to do for each page loaded. I think he said he was making it so there were fewer user titles.

 

Mike is also testing a few things. And the Fish Master title was turning into an eBay link. So he changed it to VIP. Not sure of this will be a permanent change.

There's quite a few members around here who are very dedicated to helping others. I think that's another reason why this forum is so great

To you, perhaps. However, I took it seriously, too. It happens a lot, that someone feels that they really need to have five stars, so they post a whole bunch of pointless posts. If JerI hadn't said something, I would have.

I feel like earning green boxes is way more of an accomplishment considering it is your fellow peers who are recommending your status. its like the saying goes, its quality not quantity!!

The green bars are reputation points. You can give a post good or bad reputation by clicking the little scale icon that appears on each post.

Offer solid advice and your rep points will go up. You don't have to do anything special. No good deed goes unrecognized on this forum for long. And if you feel a post is worthy consider giving rep as well.

Members have to have 50 posts to give rep.
Once you hit the 50 post mark you'll see it on other members info.

Sorry, I updated the two titles late last night. Fish Bum is no longer a title. Fish Bum was merged with FishLore Newbies. FishLore Newbies until 100 posts and changed FishMaster to FishLore VIP. Sounds great. Apparently the automatic linking feature is now linking the signature "sent from my BlackBerry using tapatalk" to BlackBerrys being sold on eBay :;madsmiley3

Then why not remove them all together? Along with the stars and green bars. It seems as if after reading older post about these things, the consensus is that they don't matter. So why not remove them all together to make things easier?

I think they do speak volumes about a member's experience and reputation on the forum. Without them it's hard to differentiate which members really know their stuff.

Plus it's nice to be recognized as a member that really puts their all into helping others.

The reputation points are an exact number instead of bars accompanied by a phrase. I think this method is more accurate and helpful.
