It's Fish Day!!!

There are 8 cardinals & 5 guppies in there.ops: We have a quarantine set up and ready but didn't even consider that the fish farm where we got them from would bag them all together. After some time acclimating they all went in together. Everybody is looking good. They are still a little skittish when we are near the tank but seem calm and relaxed after some time to themselves. Hope I can get some better pics soon .

That is a very colorful guppy! (Is that what it is?) Not very familiar with guppies.

Male guppies have beautiful patterns and colors. You can find just about any color you want and some have patterns that look mosaic The one you are probably talking about is called Tequila Sunrise and his tail does look just like a sunrise. We also got a turquoise, a German blue, a Green Cobra and a Red Leopard. Can't wait to get good pictures of these guys. I really think they are doing well, they seem to be schooling with the tetras even. As soon as we approach the tank they group up and zoom to the surface to hide by the plants or filter output. In the meantime JRS, is you'd like to see pics of some real show stopping guppies click the link

Finally got a few OK pics of our new fishy babies
Love these guys so much! They are so beautiful but I am worried they are not getting enough to eat. I'm trying a variety of foods but they only eat out of the water column and will not pick up food after it hits the bottom. I've ordered some new food that I should have an easier time sticking onto the glass near their favorite hangout.
Beautiful guy, but he's being a bit of a jerk, chases everyone away from "his" area, which is about half the tank! He's not nipping anyone from what I can see but may have to go back if he doesn't settle down He's really been picking on a couple of the other guppies.
This is supposed to be a male but that belly seems to be telling a different story. I am trying to get a good look at those fluttering fins to be sure.
This little guy is best buddies with my shyest guppy, the turqoise, who I have not been able to get a good pic of yet I also got a couple zebra nerites who are so small & cute!

Next for this tank is to slowly switch over to R/O water I am expecting some SeaChem products this weekend to buffer and remineralize the water. I'm a little nervous about this but after stalking CindiL 's posts some more, I decided to try the products she uses. I wouldn't even be doing this if my tap didn't have nitrates that fluctuate from 10 - 40. It's gotten near impossible to keep them at an acceptable level lately.
