Fishless ammonia cycle. Need help interpreting this!

Need help interpreting this! I'm on day 14 of my fishless/ammonia cycle.

Got my Nitrite spike a week ago and its been high since.

Ammonia = 2.0
Nitrite = 5.0
Nitrate = 5.0

Should I add any ammonia today or just wait until it goes to zero again????

sometimes I will slow down how much ammonia I add when I get my nitrite spike. I would just add every other day.

 

thanks - I have only been adding 1 drop every other day or so, when the ammonia gets low ( not quite zero though )
I am assuming that since I now have some Nitrates that its starting to convert Nitrites nicely. I just didn't want this to be a sign that things have stalled.

I did not add any ammonia today so we'll see how the readings go tomorrow.

make sure you arnt adding to little also. how much did you add to keep it at 5ppm? my nitrite reading were off the charts.

Well they were off the charts for a few days until I backed off the ammonia - I started off with 5 drops per day, then backed it off to 2-3 drops, and now one drop a day so far. My tank is only 6 gallons

 

I would stick with one drop a day or two drops every other day.

when my nitrite spiked I had a 0 ammonia reading. just keep it up, see what happens over the next couple days.

I was even thinking of skipping a few days on the ammonia - I didn't add any today so I'll see what tomorrow says - if its still high then I may skip another day...
