What is something about fishkeeping that you find particularly satisfying?

One of mine is when I am scaping and make a little cave/hide area for a nano fish and they use it.

Taking fish out of quarantine and putting them in their much better home in a much bigger tank and watching them settle in, Like I just did yesterday with 17 chain loaches! They are so happy BTY!

I enjoy talking to people at my local maidenhead aquatics. Not sure how this has happened as I am usually a quiet and shy person but seem to be the most popular person when I’m there.

I know for my wife it is when she finds new platy babies. I personally like watching my cats make fools of themselves trying to get at the fish. Also like finding baby plecos, more fun when you realize they are spawning and prepped for babies, though...

Sitting down in my living room and watching my fish feed at the end of the day.

I enjoy seeing dozens of tiny shrimp grazing on the algae and biofilm on the back of the tank (I try to keep the front clean for viewing, but I leave the back and at least one side alone).

Finding out the propagated plants I put in the tank have grown nice solid, long, roots!

Getting fish to breed and then finally being able to put the little ones in the same tank as the adults.

Selling and shipping off that last batch of fish and then being able to focus on the next breeding project.

Another thing i like is that feeling when you get new fish and they are in that initial stress stage, then they come out of it a day or two later (or sooner), and frolic around more or less as normal.
