Fishes Disturbing Substrate After Feeding

So my tank looks clear and when I feed them they play around and mess the substrate. Just a few minutes after the floating pellets are cleared, my fishes- zebras and fancy guppies start scavenging the tank bed. So I tried increasing the feed hoping they would not be hungry to search food. But still they mess up. Any suggestions to prevent this?

It is in their nature I don't think you can prevent it. But I wouldn't increase their food too much cuz that will cause way more, problems than messed up substrate

My loaches and barbs always sift the sand substrate but it never makes a mess.
What is your substrate?
Planted aquarium with sand cap. The sand is getting disturbed and is suspended in water. Takes some time to settle down again.

My only guess is the sand is very fine.
I have a mix of bdbs and National Geographic sand in one tank and all Caribsea super natural in another. When it is disturbed, it just falls right back down.
