Fish With Tumors Died In Tank, What Do I Do?

I came home from work my little red glofish guy had died. I found him behind plants, partially picked at. I have a 10 gallon with 8 glofish danios and 5 baby mystery snails. He hasn't been thriving for about a week and a half. He had some lumps inside his belly for many months that never really bothered him, like tumors or something. I'm worried about everyone else, now... Did they eat his tumors? Do I need to do a deep clean? How do I handle this?? The second pic is last week, the first is an older one.

That’s a drastic change! The best thing to do is a good cleaning and water change. I can’t actually see the fish of course but if it was tumors, there’s a good chance just clean water will be all you need to worry about. So, gravel vac and water change. 30% should do fine. Make sure you vac the gravel where his body was. I’m sorry you lost the little guy. Keep an eye on the others. Any new symptoms show up jump back in and we’ll try to help. We’re here for you. Again, I’m truly sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did scoop up his body and surrounding gravel for disposal with a small cup, I will do the vac & change as soon as I get home today.

Just found Blind Green this morning, stuck against filter intake. She looks normal, and I always watched to make sure she was eating. (She only had one eye when I got her home.) Also, Orange Boy looks thin and listless so I immediately moved him to hospital tank. No interest in food, but I just stressed him out moving him. Everyone else seems OK; I had done a water change the day before and just came in to test my water and feed them. My parameters are 76F 0-0-15.

Ok, hubby just though there was something there. Try apI general cure. May be too late for skinny one
Should I move out my 5 mystery snail babies and just dose the whole 10 gallon tank?

Just moved snails out because API website states sodium chloride as an ingredient in General Cure; have put in first dose. Maybe gill flukes? Package says emaciated fish is a symptom of it.

Orange Boy gone. I looked up to see him barely alive stuck on filter intake. Luckily, I had clove oil from releasing Copperfield, my mystery snail a few weeks back.

I’m so sorry. It’s awesome you care enough to do the right thing. And such a tough call to make. Keep updates. I check often as I can.

I just did the second treatment of General Cure yesterday. Of my five remaining fish, 2 are very thin, and the rest are red at their fins and gills and body line. My Big Green is especially red...

2 more losses today, both of the very thin ones. Big Red while I was at work, & Big Momma Orange just got euthanized. Big Momma was pineconing on her top and listless and gasping. I just didn't want her to die in the tank.

IMG_0340.jpg She's the one far right. 3 green ones remain now, and all have serious red streaks in their fins and bodies. I fear septicemia and possibly ich from the stress.

Going to the LPS this morning before work. There were a few white specks on Big Momma Orange last night before I removed her from the tank.

It’s just so hard to lose fish after fish.

Lost two more yesterday. I have one green female left from a school of 8 glofish. Treating symptoms now, Epsom dips and nitrofurazone (it's what I had on hand). Here's Big Green in her dip, not eating but moderately active...

How many are left? If you’re using nitrofurazone, can you get some kanaplex too?

Just that one. In addition to this mess my snail's emergency tank cycle crashed and I had to run out and buy some Prime to protect the poor babies. Going to a fish specialty store today with my 'former' fish so they can look and give an opinion.

Took last 2 deceased fish to the store to be examined. He concluded intestinal parasites due to the condition of their digestive tracts. He gave me PraziPro to treat, although my lone fishie probably won't survive. I told him I know she likely won't, but I have to try. That's what allows me to sleep at night.

She's still a bit red, but I can tell she's a green fish again. Just did several water changes to clear out the meds and replaced filter.

She stopped eating this morning after a week of apparent normal appetite. I found her lifeless after I got home from work. She was the last fish left in my tank, only have 3 juvI mystery snails now.
