Fish that likes being alone, but is shrimp safe?

Hello all,

I'm in the process of setting up a 29-gallon tank. I plan on doing lots of driftwood, rocks, and plants. I have some schooling fish in mind for the top/midsection and plan on doing cory cats on the bottom. In your opinion, is there a species of fish that doesn't mind being alone that works well in a tropical community setting and will leave shrimp alone? I was looking at Kribensis and American Flag fish but saw that they weren't the best candidates for being companions with shrimp.

Any suggestions would be helpful and if there's a thread already started about this, could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

This is a bit of a catch 22 - generally smaller fish like being in a group, which makes them small enough that they are usually pretty shrimp-safe. Larger fish are generally more solitary, but also have larger mouths...
