my fishtank has white cottony substance in it. does any one know what it is? or how to fix it?
Hi hapipantz, It may be a water fungus that is growing on uneaten fish food in your tank. Siphon out any excess fungus and waste from your tank as often as possible and keep up on your water changes. This fungus could attack your fish if they are stressed or weak. I noticed a growth on the uneaten fish food in my birthing tank setup for my baby swordtails. If I didn't siphon out the bottom of the tank within a day or two, this white cottony substance would start growing.
do you have a filter? If you dont you deffinately need to get one
