This is going to sound dumb but I’m actually confused..is the tank a mirror? I thought originally it was not because when I went round the fish would jump and swim away, but this spotty/white platy fish is just constantly swimming at her reflection, can she see herself and thinks it another fish?

also sorry for the bad photo she’s swimming like a mad fish.

No. If you look at it from the opposite side, you can look through. I don't know what the fish is doing tho

Sounds like she is glass surfing, which is a sign of stress most of the time. Has it recently been added to the tank?

Yes she has. Will this calm down or is there anything I should do?

It should calm down - glass surfing tends to happen most when fish are first added to a new tank. Keep an eye on it and if it continues, then there may be something else that is bothering it.

For now, maybe dim the lights and let it settle in.

thank you, I tend to keep my lights on longer than I should so that might be it..I do it because I dont have an airstone but many plants and without light they can remove oxygen from water.
also is a 10pm nitrate level okay?

My fish did it when they were young, but now only when they want food. My diamond tetras have learned what the food pot looks like and they all swim to the corner when they see it
