My silver Molly is pregnant! How big will the fry be and is it bad to put the mom in a 50 fl oz breeders box? Thanks! I'm totally freaking because one person said yes and another said absolutely no!?I'm a new fish keeper, well I've had Berta's and lil brown river fish so nothing this serious! Thanks again

Hi. The fry will be little, but they will look like miniature adults and be able to swim right away. Breeders boxes are falling out of favor for confinement. One reason is they don't protect the fry from Mom eating them. (Yes, it will happen.) Another is Mom wants to move around when she's in labor. Top plants like anacharis or hornwort or moss, give the fry a place to hide until you can move them, if you plan on raising them. Many people don't, because livebearers like Molly can have dozens of fry, and that's overwhelming. They just leave them in the tank and let Nature take her course.

Looks like you want the fries.
Then you have to seperate the mother from the fries.
