Fish Not So Good

Hey guys. So I recently changed my filter and didnt up the old filter with the new one so I found out that is the reason my fish died, cause there was not enough bacteria supplement. Well I just found out today that my fish has ick, I got ick guard and ammonia and ph level kits and I put water clarifier to treat the ammonia. How do I treat the ph level so my fish don't die? They won't eat and they look really bad

What ph level is it testing at? And have you tested the ph of your tap water?

The high ammonia will be because the introduction of a new filter without seeding it from the old one is causing your tank to cycle.

Ph level at 7.4 and ammonia level is like between 0.05 and 0.02

And what about the nitrates and nitrates, and a full test of your tap water?

If the tap water reads at the same ph as your tank then a water change isn't gping to help your ph levels. There are ways to change your ph but If your fish have acclimatised to that ph it's normally best to leave them.

in my opinion the best cure for ick rather then chemicals is a high temperature raised to about 84 if I remeber correctly the reason for this is because ick can only be killed at a certain point in its cycle adding chemicals to ick once in its " salt and pepper " stage won't do a whole lot because its incased and protected within a cyst ( giving it its salty appearence ) it most be in its free swimming stage in order to be neutrulized unfortunately there might be something I'm forgetting about..

as for the pH ... 7.4 seems like a pretty good pH to have almost neutral shouldn't be harming your mollies same with a 0.02 - 0.05 ammonia that really not drastically high to be harmful 0.25 - 0.50 is starting to get worrisome levels ( in my opinion )
