Fish Meds Stink

Did you ever notice that some fish meds, well, just stink?

I recently bought a balloon molly and low and behold, she had some sorta ickish-type stuff on her, so I began treating her with "Ick Attack", and boy does that stuff just stink like butt. ewe

Some meds, like pimafix and melafix, actually smell like meds or like old lady perfume... and some don't smell at all.

I just hate it when you add a med to a tank and it smells. Walk by or dare open the hood... and POW... it blows you over... ya know?

Well, just a thought...

Prime doesn't smell good, but is nothing compared to melafix and amquel+ and ich-attack both are pretty unpleasant. only melafix has left a smell to the tank though after dosing.

But melafix smells really good and relaxes me when I am treating my tanks. So in a way I am getting a treat myself.

Yea, The Koala lives almost entirely on eucalyptus leaves... and believe it or not... Koalas have a very low metabolic rate for a mammal and rests motionless for about 19 hours a day, sleeping most of that time.

Koalas don't eat Melaleuca tree leaves (melafix), but... the origins of the remedy are Australian!

Tea tree oil (melaleuca oil) is being marketed for the treatment of many disorders in humans and in animals. The active ingredients in tea tree oil have a similar structure and action as turpentine. Melaleuca oil comes from the Australian tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). It is also known as tea tree oil and Australian tea tree oil. The oil is reputed to have mild antibacterial and antifungal properties and is marketed as a natural remedy in both veterinary and human medicine.

It does, but I think it also says something about it being it being added for some other purpose.

I read somewhere that high quantities of the oil can be toxic... I can't remember the site I was on but it said animals and humans were getting sick from topical use and from accidental ingestion of tea tree oil. Ill try and see if I can find that site... if you are interested.

i'm sure high quantities of it is toxic. that's why label directions are good

but then, you get high enough quantities of anything, and it'll be toxic
