At least 24 years maybe more, I honestly can't remember when I got my first tank. I just know it was before the age of 10. I have kept many different aquatic species over the years. Turtles and catfish are my favorite. Amphiuma is probably the most odd.

Well I got my first tank when I was around eight years old, but that ended quickly and tragically.

I didn't really get seriously into proper fish care until about eight months ago. I'm very much a beginner but I do have a bit of knowledge due to me researching everything I can.

First fish tank I ever took care of was when I was about 7 or 8 years old, and that lasted until I was about 11. So four years of just basic care of water changes and dechlorinating water and switching around decorations but I didn't know anything about the nitrogen cycle or stocking or anything that's really important in the hobby. Now I'm older and got back into the hobby around February 2015. So all together 5 years but I only got into it seriously a little over a year ago.

Well, actually my dad was born in Florida then his parents got divorced and he moved to New Jersey where his mom's mom was. Then, he found my mom (which I kinda wish he didn't) and had my brother and sister. Finally, they moved allllllllllllll the way back to Florida where I was born. For some reason though, I like the cold weather better. I also like water a lot, so... is that how I got into the fish hobby?

If your Dad hadn't found your Mom you wouldn't be around now would you, so in a way it's a good thing he did so you could be born, right?

Thanks for not taking offense a lot of times I speak (or in this case type) without considering the other person's feelings though I'm working on that.

I've been keeping/breeding fish for about 50 years. Been studying them for 51. Unlike most people, I decided to buy a book before I ever had a tank. Two days after I set up my first tank, I had a Swordtail drop fry in the community. I fished them out and raised them for a while in a Kritter Keeper until I could put them back in the bigger tank. After that, I realized that the learning was in the breeding. Been down a couple of times, but never completely out.

What is your fish keeping experience? 7 years with freshwater from triops to discus breeding, and 2 years with keeping a reef tank.
What are yours?

Fish keeping: 5 years
Appropriate and well educated fish keeping: 2.5 years.
Previously bred dwarf crayfish and a few batches of bn plecos.
Been breeding angelfish pretty seriously for a year and a half and it has become a passion of mine.
I currently have 14 tanks squeezed into a small 2 bedroom condo.
