Hey i was wondering what kind of fish they have on the san diego botanical garden pond. I know they have koi but i see little fish almost like guppies but i cant make them out further.

I am asking because i just had to trim ALOT of plants from my tank and didnt want to toss them away so i filled up a 20gallon rubber maid and tossed it all in there and put it on the patio.
I live in san diego.
I wanted to know what kind of fish apart from gold fish amd koi i could have outside in my southern califor ia summer climate.
The tub is in a semi shady spot.

Last question.. does anyone know if they heat the pond at balboa

A 20 gal tub is much too small for koi or I wouldn't put any goldies either, but fish like Gambusia or guppies would likely be fine, especially if you can move it to a fully shaded spot.

Yeah the 20gal was my laundry bin anyway lol i went to walmart and got 2 50gal tubs and put them on the side of the house with all the plants in and filled them up.

Do they need to be fully shaded then?
