Does he have clear/white, stringy poo?

I have had very picky eater bettas before. Try buying Betta pellets. These are what I feed my bettas!

If your Betta is picky like mine was, he may enjoy those pellets.
Also keep in mind that bettas live in small rice pools in the wild. They have tolerance to go weeks without food. Not saying that that is a good thing at all, but if you try pellets today, he should be fine

The last time I saw anything from him was in a cup, and it looked fine.

I feed my bettas pellets already. He couldn't care less about them

Have you tried frozen thawed Brine Shrimp or Frozen thawed Blood worms. Not the freeze dried. The smell might get him interested. Alison

Not trying to poach ideas, but someone with experience on some thread here said to try soaking their food in mild garlic juice to intice them. I think it was something like: crush a clove of garlic, gather some of the juice and mix 50/50 with water, then soak a pellet or bloodworm in it.
I haven't personally tried it, but it certainly can't hurt!

It's worth a try. Good idea. Alison

I've made garlic juice by thinly slicing a clove and putting in an ounce or two of water and just letting it sit. Keep it in the fridge.

I already have garlic pellets, but I soaked some in garlic juice and he still wasn't interested.

And Alison, not sure where I'd get frozen thawed Brine Shrimp or Blood worms. Could I just hatch some Brine shrimp, freeze them, thaw them, and feed them to him?

Do you have a petco? I know ours sells frozen fish foods. They come in little cubes and you can just slice off a bit and put the rest back in the freezer.

Most pet stores like Petco, Petsmart, Most mom and pop fish stores all have a freezer section with frozen foods for various types of fish. The blood worms and brine shrimp are in a cardboard container with a plastic insert like little individual ice cubes. For the Betta you want the regular brine shrimp not the newly hatched brine shimp as they are very small. Just slice a little piece off one and unthaw it in a teaspoon of tankwater or a tablespoon . I use a small plastic Dixie cup. Leave the rest of the cube in the compartment and put the whole package in a freezer bag, in the freezer. it will keep a very long time. Some stores also have little flat packages as well and the same thing just a tiny piece for one Betta. Alison

I went to my petco and they didn't have any frozen fish food. My lfs has some ZooMed Can O Bloodworms though, would this work? They aren't alive, but also aren't dried

Apparently those can only be kept for a week after being opened, it seems like a waste of food and awfully expensive too. I suppose you could buy one just to see if your fish will take it.

Are you sure there's no frozen fish food? The Petco and Petsmart near me both have it, they're not where the other fish food is. The Petco has it around the reptile section and the Petsmart near their fish wall.

So it's been about 24 days since I bought this betta. Got him July 18th. I've never seen him eat. I tried every food, almost. None of my pet stores near me had live worms or brine shrimp. One did have a feeder guppy tank. It had the wild guppies of all ages. I took home one fry for free.

The betta ate it. After 24 days, he finally ate something.

He only ate it once the fry swam right in front of his mouth.

I guess you need to get a female guppy now!

You could try raising live food then such as brine shrimp.

I wonder if he'll take other foods now that he's started eating?

I can not believe that a Betta lived 24 days without eating.

Already started!

I saw him eating little scraps of a soggy pellet, so maybe

He's much smaller than when I got him
