Fish eating poop

    Is this normal? Our 4 month old platty "fry"has been eating his poop. You know before it hits the gravel he eats it.

    (It has happened enough that the kids are flipping out when they see him/her eating it. We switched to api flakes from top fin when they ran out and that's when we noticed the behavior start. I don't know if there is a connection there, but it's the same amount of food offered.)

    This is completely normal nothing too worry about they will eat and than spit it out thinking it's food in the water column

    My fish do that too! They just suck it in and then spit it out. I don't think its anything to worry about.
