Everything seemed fine in my community tank until today About 2 days ago my wife noticed a small white bump on one of my harlequin rasboras lip. Then we noticed it on the female guppy that had just given birth the day before(we were able to catch about 9 of the fry and toss em in the breeder). We did a 40% water change and waited. Then yesterday we saw the mother didn't make it and figured it was birthing complications After giving her a burial at sea we noticed daddy's rear fin was split now and redish. He didn't make it through the day. Next morning my wife noticed our Dojo loach was missing. After doing a search we found him wrapped up in a plant and almost covered in what was either white fuzz or he was missing bits of skin(we didn't want to touch him) gone on to that big pond in the sky.
That was this afternoon. Now a silver molly has died as well as a rummynose tetra(I actually saw them both swimming around fine minutes before). I also noticed one of my male black mollies on the floor of the tank and the pregnant black molly doing the same both of which have the white fuzz around their mouth(cottonmouth maybe?). The 2 black mollies have since been moved to a 2.5 gallon old betta bowl(all we have for quarantine) and I have just finished testing the water which was PH-7.8/Ammonia-0/Nitrite-0/Nitrate-50-80?? After just doing a 40% not 2 full day earlier?!? So tonight I have done another 40% change and am literally RUNNING to the LFS tomorrow to hopefully buy a cure if it has infested my tank.
So far the other fish look ok other than the mollies I had to move out but something horrible is happening in there and I have no ideas(other than my Nitrate was high). I pray that I have no more casualties come morning.
Side note: my temp is hanging around 78-80 and I haven't raised or lowered not knowing if this is some kind of fungus or disease yet.
Also just noticed one of my zebra danios tail fin looks stuck together(I read it was an issue somewhere)
Can I have anything else wrong in this tank at the same time?!
Oh and I lost a dwarf flame out of that tank a week or so ago to Popeye......
