Fish Art

Hello Everyone!

I just finished a pastel painting of a betta and I wanted to share it with fellow fish lovers! I'm proud of it, so be nice--I haven't picked up a pastel in years, so I think it's pretty good! ;D

Anyway, since I'm sharing mine, I was wondering if there are any other artists on fishlore who have any "fish art" that they would like to share??

Awesome a thread perfect for me! I am an artist and fish is my main thing to paint. I haven't done any paintings of my own fish but I do a lot of Ocean fish pictures. I'll have to post a picture of my most recent one sometime soon.

Fantastic job! Amazing detail! I am not an artist in the sense of painting portraits like that, I am a house painter....lol. Even though very different levels of painting, I find that painting is very relaxing and therapeutic. You definitely have great talent

That's not just "pretty good", that's AMAZING!!!! I wish I could make something that good, you should sell it, you could probably get good money from some fishlover. I have fish art, but I'm far too bad to post anything and exspect not to enbaress myself.

I look forward to seeing it!

I know how you feel about sharing artwork, I hesitated before posting mine. I know there are people out there better than me, but I'm proud of my own abilities! So feel free to share, I don't want to be the only one!!

I'm not familier with lino block print, is it something you could share with us? It sounds cool!

I think anybody can be an artist, at any skill level, especially if they find what works for them. For me it's using suggestion and impressionism rather than intimate details or realism because I'm not good at details! I think I achieve that pretty well with pastels, in my own way--I know I don't use them "correctly."

Hello all!
As a lover of both fish and art I'm always drawing and sketching out fish, plants and about anything else under the sun.
So, through popular demand (lol) and basically derailing and taking over someone else's thread, I've decided to make my own thread dedicated to moi, drawing your fishy friends, and pretty much anything really. Post pics of your fish or specie names for me to draw! It may take a day or two but I'll try to post everything afap.
Many thanks

Here are some fish I drew for other peeps!

Beautifully done! I started reading the labels on the pictures and each one was the proper name for it ...except "smiley fish" and then I LOL'd

The Smiley Fish oddly looks quite similar to the Parrot fish Sistawolf saved and is currently rehabbing.
Maybe it will look like your artwork when its all said and done

You are an awesome artist!
Since no one seems to want me drawing their fish, can you draw these two?

This is Snow White(Female delta tail betta)

This is The Cow(Male HMPK betta)

Thank you
The Cow was imported from Thailand, and then I bought him from eugene fish store. Snow was sent to me from a member on here.

marijo Heya! For the fish I've been using watercolour and polychromos pencils. I recently bought a set of 60 pencils (artgasm) and they are soooo Goooood As for the birds, they are done all in black ball point pen. I don't really work in graphite anymore because it's too messy for me lol ^_^

Thanks for your reply! About how much time it takes you to draw a fish? Do you have a favorite animal as model? Birds, dogs, cats.... You will be busy with all the requests you're going to get here
