Hi, first post. After a long while cycling the tank (fishless), finally have my fish in - danios, minnows and platies. Hope they are happy. Becoming a bit obsessed with keeping fish! It's a Fluval 200 litre. Any constructive criticism very welcome. The danios seem to love the grass - they kind of twirl about with eachother in there.

Looks good. If your getting obsessed already you will soon find it takes over your life ( but in a good way ) . As a newbie you will probably make mistakes but don't worry, if you learn from your mistakes then there not such a bad thing. If you are unsure about anything or need some advice remember there are loads of people here who will be only be too happy to help. Welcome to the hobby.

Thanks so much Heron! I'm really enjoying the mechanics of it - the water testing etc. Been lurking here a while and knew it would be a good place to post.

Yay! Thank you. Still learning, so thanks for the encouragement.

I like your tank a lot. Great placement on the plants and driftwood.

Very beautiful natural looking tank!! What types of plants do you have in there? I really like the one in the back middle. I’m looking for something like that to put in my small 6 gallon fluval

Hi, thanks! That one is 'Bolbitis heudelotii' - all my plants are on wood rather than buried in substrate so I'm really hoping they do OK.

It is an addicting hobby that is for sure. Endlessly fascinating & fun. Just don't be afraid to ask for help or advice. There is probably nothing that someone here hasn't already been through and can help with. Welcome and glad you stopped lurking and came out of the shadows JK . Everyone here probably did the same.

And sorry, the others are Eleocharis Acicularis (that's the grass), Anubias barteri, Java fern, Microsorum pteropus 'Trident', and various bits of java moss on wood / coconut shell.
