First saltwater tank

So, I have decided to make the jump from freshwater to salt water.
I have also decided to make my first salt water system a FOWLR tank.
What I have done so far.

37 gal tank (30"L x 12"W x 22"H)
30 pounds of live rock from my LFS
40 pounds of argonite (crushed coral, not live sand) substrate (lightly washed for the very light weight to be gone)
Purchased salt water from my LFS

Tank is up and running for 36 hours. Water clarity has gone from no visibility to crystal clear.
Water temp is stable at 78 df.
Specific gravity at 1.023.
Tracking daily for an ammonia spike. Then will track ammonia and nitrite, than those and nitrate.

Is the live rock sufficient to start the nitrogen cycle?

What I am planning for live stock...
2 tank raised clowns
3 blue/green reef chromis
1 yellow prawn gobbie
1 tiger pistol shrimp
And additional standard CUC

Is that too much live stock for this tank?
Would that mix of fish be good together?

Any other things I am forgetting or other advice?
Thanks for your help and opinions!

Hi, and welcome to Fishlore . Yeah, that sounds about right for everything but...I was wondering if you have any power filters, skimmer or power heads yet? Concerning the cycle, the rock should to great and just be sure to keep up on your testing. A little LR or LS will work but the more you use the faster the tank will cycle as in FW. Please remember that Saltwater requires even more patience than FW. ttyl

Sure thing. I do have a HOB carbon filter rated for a 40 gallons tank (I think it moves 200 gal/hr) and a circulator rated for 600 gal/hr.

I think I might eventually upgrade to a skimmer. Only time will tell.

Yeah, just make sure the stuff isn't being blown around too much and try to keep the flow on the LR itself. Do you know what type of HOB it is? Just curious....
