I wanna keep my readers interested...I'm going to tell storys about my first year of fish keeping and present...ill start of with my frist day

well was sitting in my bed one night and I remembered seeing a really cool fish at walmart... a bala shark..I love sharks and thought how cool to have my won miny shark....and I knew we still had a 5.5 gallon fish tank in the basement from when we kept gold fish . the next morning I woke up set up the tank and road my bike to walmart bought the bala and some fish food. I put (edie) in the tank and watch for a while...then I went on the computer and when to google and typed in bala shark and that brought me to fish lore and iv been here ever since...the funny part is that (edie) lived for seven months....I miss edie alot..my the fact that he was there for so long ment a lot all of the mistakes..everything I did wrong he stuck with me and fought to live ...RIP edie

Sorry to hear about you Eddie. I have probably killed the most fish and made the most mistakes out of the ppl in this forum.

I would like to argue that ....but I don't feel like it

meaning I have killled a lot of fish and made a lot of mistakes also...actully I would think some of the people who have been doing this longer wojuld have killed more just ..I'm sure someone could have more fish die on them in 20 years then in 1 year if you think about it...even with exprience and knoledge...things die..diease breaks out ...etc...

I meant like killing them from beginner mistakes. You don't want to know how many goldfish I killed before I actually researched.

my 55gal is looking good the water is very clear...it was milkly at first because I used natural pea gravel and its hard to clean it perfectly...I had a amoina problem in my 20 gallon two of my females were laying at the bottom of the tank all the of the gupps had very redd gills I did a water change earlier and added some ammonia removing chemicals...I figured they could die from amoina poisoining .. or they could from being in a not fulling cycled tank...well now they all look great..and my females are helping cycle my 55 gallon...I'm afraid to put them back in the 20 ...I one of hte females is gravid and its chest is starting to get fatter...she is only about a week along though...but I don't want fry in my 55 gallon that's for sure....I'm going to get my water tested when I get my apI master test kit....I'm getting it at petsmart..so ill just have them test it then I'm picking up a apI master kit for future use....as far as stocking the tank I'm back and forth and all over the place on what I want to do...I'm reaserching and taaking sugestions from forumers etc...

I would slow down so you don't endup having to recycle your tank a few fish per week is what I do and ive never had water problems

I agree. And angels do better in a well established tank.

If your 55 gallon aquarium has standard sized filter intakes, chances are the fry will not survive anyway. If you are trying to save the young, you may want to move them back into the 20. Ammonia is typically a short term problem or long term if you do not have adequate biological filtration. If this is a new problem with the 20 gallon, as a result of a recent change in filtration, etc., it may be only temporary and can be kept under control by your water changes. You will often read that ammonia should read 0. This is ideal, but sometimes, not always possible. The actual toxicity of ammonia can be calculated more accurately when comparing the results of your test kit with water temperature and pH. I will try to find this information and post it here for you.

What do you do with the fry as they age? Do you use them as fish food, give them away, etc.?
