Hi :) ...its been a while since I've posted on here and my tank has made quite some progress.

Here's a pic,its not the most creative/prettiest but I love it and enjoy watching them.

    My beautiful angel :) 9346f8e47263b45a9b4f86d81b51f9d7.jpg

Its a 40 gallon (rather tall)

    With

    -1 Pearl Gourami
    -1 Angel
    -8 C.Sterbai
    -10 Harlequins
    -1 Molly

    Now:

What cichlid(s) could I possibly add to the tank to colour up/fill the tank?

    Very nice tank!
I would add a pair of GBRs if your parameters are generally good enough to keep them:)

That was my first thought as well. I'm not sure about bio load but they are lovely.

    Thank you :)

    My parameters are usually 0-0-10
    (Ammonia-nitrite-nitrate)

GBRs sounds great,i'll just have to order them from my lfs as they dont keep them regularly

Any other options though before I get them? Thanks

Their bioload is quite low and they are very interesting to watch:)
They can be very difficult to keep alive though depending on your source. I've been lucky with them so far but I've seen some people on this forum who can't seem to keep them alive for more than a month despite near-perfect conditions. If you decide to get some, I wouldn't get any from chain stores and keep an eye on them in the store tanks for a few days to make sure they are healthy before buying them.

I'll keep that in mind and try to keep my water quality as good as possible...

Any alternatives ? That are more hardy perhaps

Have you looked at Apistogramma sp. dwarf cichlids? Depends on the species, but cockatoo cichlids for example would be an option.

Yeh ...had troubles finding apistos but I searched some more and came across a gold apistogramma cacatuoides

Which I assumed is just a color variation? How many could I add?

Yes, it's just a color variant. I'd do 2 of them.
