Finally getting fish In my tank!! (Thanks to all of you)

Okay, this Is what I would like In my tank, I would like 2 otos, 5 red tetras, 5 tiger barbs, 3 black mollies and 3 small silver dollar fish. If you could tell me In what order to Introduce them to my 30 gallon tank and If they are a good non aggressive group of fish, I would appreciate It. Also let me know If that's too many fish and what fish I can reduce to fit Into my tank. I heard the tiger barbs are aggressive If they don't have at least 6 of them In the tank. Please give me your feedback! As always, Thank You very much.

the barbs and silver dollars might not be compatible, same for the barbs and mollies. you're right about the barbs.. with 6 or more it has a better chance of success, but i'd keep an eye out for any signs of trouble.

 

I've heard that barbs and mollies can be a problem (ok, I've just heard that barbs can be problems ). Also, those silver dollars, whether you get them small or large, will eventually get to be six or seven inches apiece, taking up over half of the bioload of your tank on their own. Otos are a good choice. Whether or not you've got semi-aggressive fish, otos are fast little buggers, and mine both survived the unwanted attentions of my koi as he tried to decide if they were food or not.

 

I would really like the black mollies, If I got 5 or 6 of them will they go okay with the Tiger barbs?

I hate to be the continual bearer of bad news, but probably not. (Aside from that, they'd be pushing the bioload of the tank at that point). Fishlore actually says that Mollies don't do well with many other fish. If you're looking for variety, you could do a couple of different types of mollies. Otherwise, it looks like you might have to wait until you can get another tank to get Mollies.

 

Either a school of mollies or of tiger barbs would be cool just not together unfortunately.
