That's just natural colouration that developed. It looks like he still has fin rot on his other fins. Can we get more information about the tank: Fish Emergency Template

The white tips are nothing to be concerned about, but it does look like he has fin rot on his other fins. See how there are jaggedy chunks out of his tail fin? That’s either from fin rot, tail biting, or tearing his fins on decor (less likely on the tail than the lower fin). Treat like fin rot either way, as bites or tears can quickly develop into fin rot.

Its a simple betta tank from walmart that I bought yesterday I clean him oftenly and I feed him hikarI betta food he ussually makes bubble nest which that a good sign but his water is new and everything is new except for the fish but apart from that ever since he got that he doesn't look bad or stressed

I don't think he is biting it because he has always been like that ever since I bought him on august 2018 but anyways I'm gonna listen to you so is there anything I can do to like stop whatever he has

Also I think he is a delta betta so I think they usually look like that
But yeah I see the jagged fins

Also there is not much decor just a tiny plant

Hi

All that means is that he is sexually mature and ready to breed, nothing else.

Is your tank cycled?

Your tank needs more plants.

Delta tail refers to how far the fins spread out (so the height of the tail fin, not the length) but shouldn’t have any chunks missing. Plastic plants can tear betta fins, so I’d recommend taking out that little one (since it’s not like such a tiny plant is offering him much cover anyway) and replace it with some silk plants.

The number one thing to help fin rot and fin regrowth is pristine clean water. It sounds like your tank has not yet gone through the nitrogen cycle unless you moved the used filter media over from his old tank, so you should be doing daily partial water changes. Do you have a test kit for water parameters? If not, I suggest you buy one or at least bring a water sample to your local fish store for testing (petsmart and petco both offer free water testing, but make sure you write down the actual parameters since sometimes they don’t know much about aquariums and just tell you it’s “fine” when it’s really not).

Also, what size tank is it and does it have a filter and heater? The larger the tank, the longer it will take for toxic ammonia to build up between your water changes, and a heater is necessary for a healthy betta since they are a tropical fish.

See I only have this 1/2 gallon fish tank and it has nothing but the fish and the plant I don't have a filter neither a heater or nothing like that I just change his water every week

Also I just got into the hobby so I don't own much and I don't know much so I'm looking to learn since I'm just a 15 year old kid that's kinda smart but yet again I don't have the money neither the knowledge to know exactly what my fish is going through

But I also have 2 gallon tank that has a filter with a water pump I'm just missing a piece of tube and without it the water doesn't flow properly so I just stick to normal plastic fish bowl for now

I’d suggest trying to get the 2 gallon tank working again so you can move him into it. It will be very difficult for him to heal in an unfiltered, uncycled bowl, and he will be prone to health problems and a very shortened lifespan in a bowl. Since you just bought the bowl, I’d suggest returning it and using the money towards the supplies for the 2 gallon.

If you’re not familiar with the nitrogen cycle you can click the blue link of the words to learn more.

That’s good news for the temperature of the tank, but he still needs more room and a filter. You can find some more information on betta needs here: Betta Care Sheet

Also even if a have a filtered tank with a 24/7 runing cycle do I still need to do water change

Also while he is in this tank should I do 100% water or just like an 80 or 60%

You would still need to do water changes, just not as often. I suggest you do daily 50% water changes as too large of a change is stressful.

Daily 50% I thought it was like once a week. I'm a student so I don't have that much time.
Dont mind my profile I just put a fake birthdate.

Hey does look better today I already fed him

He just looked stressed last night
