The other day i walked up to my tank only to notice my filter not filtering any water. I elected that since i was still running the hob filter that came with the tank id upgrade. So from the aqueon quietflow 20 i moved up to the aqueon quietflow 30. I have a 20 gallon hex tank, the hood will need to be modified to fit the new filter but it does work. However my fish seem to be overwhelmed by the extra power as i believe the gph went up from 125 to 200. Is there a way to diffuse the water better so that they aren't swimming into such a strong current? Should i go back to a quietflow 20?

There are lots of ways to slow down filter flow. Just search up “diy filter baffle” and there’s guides on how to make them.
