Filter floss for my goldfish?

Hi quick question, I have a 407 fluval canister filter and I put it more towards the lowest setting of water flow that I can for my goldfish and I feel like they kinda get swept away when they go to the corner where the filter is. Is there a way I can put filter floss in the canister opening where the current flows out to reduce the water flow? Would that help them be more stable around that area? I just want them to be more comfortable. Thanks so much!

Does you filter have outflow valves? If so you can pinch back on the valve some, make sure you adjust the outflow and not the suction.

What size tank do you have?

You could also get a spray bar attachment for the output. A piece of filter foam ziptied over the output would be another option.

It has two I think, if your talking about the pipes then yes. I’m not sure how I’d pinch them since they are pretty tough material. I’ll see if I can do that and keep it I mind.

I recently turned my spray bar on my 407 in my 55g to hit the back glass. My fish are very happy now. I put a airstone/sponge filter to break the surface more.

I recently bought a bubbler for them :) I thought they’d enjoy it cause they are very curious and smart. i will try turning it to the back hopefully that’ll solve the problem if not I’ll have to take other actions and take the tips I’ve seen here thank you

Don't decrease the flow on a 407 more than 50%. If that's not enough of a decrease you will need to find a way to redirest or diffuse the water coming from the outflow.

All you need to do is move the lever on top of the filter. No pinching of anything is required. It's explained in the manual.

Yes I’ve read about that on the manual I’ve followed instructions about decreasing it. I think I’ll move the lever or the output to a different direction to see if it’ll help thank you!
