Can a Figure 8 puffer live well and happily in a 10 gallon tank? Thank you!

Gena might know. But I think she keeps hers in a 20g, but at least 15g is recommended.

No. Not only are they very active swimmers, they also are poopy and foul the water quickly. The bigger the tank, the more water to dilute the poop. Pufferpedia says a minimum of 15 gallons. I keep mine in a 20 gallon and IMO, it's a bit on the small side.

A 20 gallon doesn't have much of a difference in space to 10 gallon. It's mostly height that is different. And with Petco's $ per gallon sale, a 20 gallon would only be $10 more.

i have mine in a 10 gallon, but only temporary. i hope mt petco gets a 30 gallon soon. these puffers poop a lot. lol!!!! meaning way more water changes in such a small 10 gallon. but remember mine is only temporary... :)

If it's a 20 long, it will have considerable difference....
    A 10 is 20L by 10W and a 20 long is 30 by 12.

I'm talking about a standard 20 gallon, which is what I have.

Agreed a 20 Long has almost twice as much surface area than a 10 and the dollar per gallon has the 20 Long on sale at Petco/Persmart.

A 20 high? That's 24 by 12. Yeah, not exactly that much difference but still a decent amount...
