Is this a female Kenyi? Sorry for the bad pic but I tried to get a better picture. When I get close to the tank they all start going crazy like it is feeding time.

No, it's not a Kenyi. The stripes would be slightly fewer, and would narrow down from top to bottom. Also the body would be stockier in shape.

Hopefully these pictures are clearer.........so if it is not a female Kenyi, then what is it? I’m not so good at ID’ing these guys because I am pretty well color blind.

The last photo is clear enough I can also see that the mouth is wrong for a Kenyi, but it could be any number of species, or even a hybrid. Very hard to narrow down what it is, much easier to say what it isn't. There are many Mbuna that are only known by their population or commercial names, and there are dozens of blue striped types. Plus the fact that it was misidentified suggests that it was not pure, so they sold it as something they thought it looked like.

I bought this batch of Cichlids last year from a tank that was labeled as “assorted Africans”. The clerk in the store said they were “zebras”. There wasn’t any ID other than that.

They are quite interesting to watch.

From looking at plenty of pictures I would think it is definitely a hybrid. It looks mostly DemasonI to me but not quite all there.
The reason I thought it may be a KenyI female is that I have a KenyI male (also may be a hybrid) and he is the tank boss. This blue fish is allowed to hang out in the Kenyi’s Area while all other fish are chased away.
With that said, I have not seen any spawning activity between them.
The more I dig into it, the more I feel like all of my fish are hybrids.

I agree with you that it looks very demasoni-esque, as I have one. Though his body shape may be a bit different.
