Female betta flaring

I've never seen it before but just today my female betta started flaring, like a male betta, at a nerite snail. She didn't do anything, just flared, swam around, came back, flared some more. Is that common? Is it common for female bettas to flare? Her personality is what I'd call "outgoing". Never one to hid, always there inspecting everything I do in the tank. Stares at me through the glass begging for food. And all of this since day one. Every male betta I ever owned hid in the back scared of me for at least a few weeks. Any comments or observations welcome. BTW - it's her, a nerite snail, and a couple of ghost shrimp in a 10 gallon, heavily planted with driftwood.

Yes, some females are more aggressive than others and will flare at random things.

Yup, my female Betta is definitely more feisty than my male, and she flares. Kind of cute because she is still pretty tiny...
Just watch her, it may be temporary.

Flaring is imo great! It means she's stimulated & healthy. To me, it's no diff than a dog barking or cat meow.
It's just part of their nature. I'd say half of my female bettas flare for whatever reason.

My male betta did the same think when I first added snails to the tank. He would flair every time he saw one of them. I had rams horns and bladder snails. He never attacked them. But flavored. He did so for several months. But about a month ago he stopped. I think it may take time. And yeah I think it is normal for them to flair as well.
