Female betta. Community tank.

Hi everyone!
I'm interested in acquiring a female betta.
I'm considering a smaller tank filtered with plants.

I also have a 75 gallon planted with community fish and inverts.
It would obviously be easier tto put her in the community tank.

My concern is there are 3 female pearl gouramies.
Everyone is currently getting along well.
What is the chance in this scenario that this would work ?

 

Sounds just fine to me, though I am no gourami expert. I think they are on the list for best betta tank mates though.
With all the plants, it may be best to take your chances in putting her in there. Female bettas are considerably peaceful, and with all that space, I doubt she'll have a reason to be aggressive.
I have a female betta in with my guppies, and she only ever picked on one. He recently jumped out and died, so that's no longer an issue. SHe only picked on him because, he nipped at her.
Moral; I think you should put a female betta in that community tank.

Generally it is not a good idea to mix bettas with other labyrinth breathers (aka gourami, other betta species). Their behaviors or too similar and may spark aggression between the two species.

That being said, it's a big tank with lots of cover so it could very well work out just fine. I keep females bettas in communities with schoolers and bottom dwellers and they get on well. Only a few times have I had betta that was just not meant for the community setting. Be it they were too aggressive towards everything that moved or they were terribly shy and would sulk the entire time. Some bettas just really prefer to be alone.

A pearl chased her once. But she's quick.

She has just been curled up at the top in the plants and leaves.

 

She has fit in really well ! Took her awhile to come out of her shell.
