When I run my finger inside my tank along the area where two sides of the tank meet, there is a sliminess and something actually come off and begin to float in the tank.

Is this possibly good bacteria that has built up and I shouldn't remove it?

It is simply bio-film. You can't see or feel the good bacteria. There could be some bacteria in the bio-film but most of it is going to be growing on your filter media.

Thanks for letting me know! Should I remove it?

Always go easy around the siliconed areas of your tank. You could use a prefilter sponge to wipe it away. But definitely don't use a scraper in those areas.

You can but unless it starts looking bad you don't need to. This happens more often than not in a new tank.
