Hello All:

Yesterday I tackled my planaria problem by deep-cleaning the gravel in my RCS tank. At the same time, I transferred out a bunch of clean plants to my betta tanks and moved a bunch of algae covered plants into my RCS tank.

With algae covered plants in my RCS tank, how often should I use algae wafers to feed them? Now that I'm working on getting rid of planaria, I don't want to overfeed them.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi.

I think with your algae covered plants, there should be enough algae to last your RCS a while. So you could cut down on the algae wafers for now.

Okay, thanks. Should I rely only on the algae covered plants for now and not feed them a wafer again until I see the algae is gone?

That's what I would do. I'm pretty sure it will be easy to tell when your shrimp need to be fed again.

That's what I did with the otos I put in my Hex5 to take care of the algae.
