Feeding Raw Veggies

I have been interested in feeding my fish and mystery snail vegetables for a dietary change from the usual Omega pellets and flakes. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience on what vegetables to try, I'm considering spinach, romaine lettuce, and carrots. I'd love to know if certain fish, especially catfish and snails, prefer to eat; or if one veggies is nutritionally better than the other; or can advise on different preparation methods for vegetables in the tank, that'd be great to know

Currently in my tank, I have a Dumbo Halfmoon Betta, 2 Striped Danios, 1 Mixed Danio, 2 White Long Skirt Tetras, 2 Emerald Catfish, and 1 Mystery Snail. I'm not concerned about the food scraps getting tossed to the bottom because I know my snail and catfish will pick it up.

I've had no luck with my fish eating carrots or brussel sprouts. They prefer zucchinI over cucumber. They seem to like shelled peas, but I recently bought a lettuce clip and some seaweed sheets. They ALL go nuts over it!

FLDawna I forgot that fish can eat zucchinis and cucumbers! I would like to try those too. How do you prepare them for the fish? In terms of, washing them a bit and giving them slices?
I'm a bit hesitant to feed peas because it has a laxative effect on Bettas. Possibly would give them that on occasion.
I haven't tried giving them seaweed. How does it nutritionally benefit the fish?

I use zucchinI and cucumber.

I slice a piece about 3/4” thick, stick a fork through the rind and put it in the tank.

The fork makes it stay in place on the bottom.

It’s only good for about 2 days.

I try to do this 2Xs a week.

I peel them and then cut a slice off so it's a round coin around 1/4" thick (ish). If there are seed I remove them. I put them in a cup with enough water to cover it and stick it in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Just enough to blanch it so when it cools it will sink. Also, I forgot to mention that broccolI is my bn pleco's favorite!
As for the shelled peas, it's good to clean the fish out once in a while to keep things running smoothly. But as long as they're eating the other veggies it shouldn't be necessary.
The seaweed I have is from Omega One. The package says it's 100% natural, loaded with vitimans and minerals, and has 24% protein. I got it for my pleco and rainbow shark but there's never any leftover for the pleco. I'm going to start putting some in the clip after lights out and see if he will eat it.

Most of your fish likely won't eat the veggies, but the snail will enjoy zucchini, cucumber, pumpkin, sometimes sweet potato (though pest snails like sweet potato better), broccoli, even yellow squash and bell peppers.

That's probably true for most of them. I have mostly barbs and some tetras and they eat the seaweed sheets best, though the barbs really like the zucchinI too.
