Feeding Raw/prev. Frozen Fish To Oscar

Ok so my question is, can I feed my future Oscar fish chopped up, home-made food?
I've been researching this fish like crazy since I fell in love with this species and really want to spoil one.
Diet will be raw fruit like melons, berries, apples, peaches, bananas and oranges (with the occasional pea).
Protein will be frozen Krill (thawed), scallops, mussels, squid, shrimp, trout and oysters.

Would the meats sold for human consumption be okay for this fish to eat raw or will there still be pathogens that could ruin the whole experience ?

Any advise or tips are greatly appreciated !

You can definetly feed him home made food. As long as the meat is not mammal meat it should be fine. As far as I'm concerned his diet looks good and balanced, not sure if he'll eat the bananas though.
Best of Luck!

Thanks for the input, I'm mainly worried about introducing parasites into the tank and wondered if the frozen fish sold in the average supermarket is infected, since the fish will be eating it raw.

Thanks a ton for the Video link!
I watch this guys YouTubes all the time, very informative.
I guess I won't know if the meats I buy are loaded with pathogens or not until an infection happens.

I love king of DIY too! I'm excited to see his new monster tanks for his rays.

You would be much better off feeding a quality pellet as a staple and supplementing it's diet with fresh/frozen food.

You should always varry your fish' diet. Even the King of DIY states it in his video.
I always like to feed 3 or more types of food.

Fish: pellets, flakes, frozen food

Bottom dwellers: veggies, sinking pellets, wafers, algae disks

I always look for good quality foods. My favorite as of recent has been National Geographic's food. I buy it at Petsmart and they never have any "meal" anything in it. My fish love it!

You're right about being wary of some of the raw food.
I've been feeding my dogs a raw diet all their lives and never had an incident of illness because dogs stomach acid is so acidic that it kills most pathogens, even e-coli.

Humans not so much. Some meat has to be frozen at -13F or below for a min. of 3 weeks to kill parasites.

I cannot find any info on the fish's stomach acid, nor is there any info on how long to freeze fish in order to kill pathogens otherwise to kill fish living in an aquarium.
You see my dilemma? LOL
Google is confused and keeps telling me to cook my fish before I eat it...now why would I want to cook my Oscar or eat his food instead of feeding it to him.

Anyways, I might cook his food to be safe but I'd always know that's not his natural diet.
Ever seen an Oscar in the Wild behind a stove?

Google is so frustrating since the Bilderbergs bought it...

Thanks for your reply, appreciate the input

Stomach acid isn't always what kills pathogens. E. colI naturally exists in many animals' guts. Their ability to fight off infections is dependent on a number of factors.

I think feeding raw fish meat a few times a week should be fine, like slayer suggested. I would worry about feeding it to him daily though, as that'll increase his chances of exposure.
