Feeding giant betta

I bought my first giant betta yesterday, he’s set up in a quarantine tank for now but seems comfortable, I had forgot to buy food for him so last night he ate brine shrimp and I got the food today. I bought hikari betta bio gold (the smaller pellets) but am unsure how many to feed him, I gave him six for the time being and he gobbled them all up barely taking time to chew between pellets lol. I usually only feed my fish once a day (in the evening) and usually skip sunday feeding because I’m always worried of over feeding. He’s 3 inches long including his short fins/tail. Anyone else have/had giant bettas and know how much to feed them? Thanks for any help!

 

My regular bettas eat like 8-10 a day. They absolutely love that food.

 

Thats a good sign at least! My newest betta gets so excited for his pellets he attacks the first one so hard he comes out of the water. Also does that with bloodworms. I would try 6 twice a day, maybe. Pay attention to bloating and such.

 

I have a 5inch betta, he eats anywhere from 8-15 pieces a day but he’s also really well trained. As soon as he’s full he ignores the rest of the food and I just scoop it out

 

My normal sized betta used to eat 6 of those per day so I would say start out with 10-12 and increase if needed. It’s always better to start smaller and have to add then to have a bloated betta! Good luck!

Slightly off topic. But do you have a picture of that beast? Here I thought leviathan was a big boy and he's maaaaaybe pushing 4".
