I’m hoping my female platy is pregnant and expecting fry soon, I posted a question before about breeder nets and from responses and things I’ve heard from others I am just going to leave her be in the tank and hope that some of the fry make it!
However I am now wondering how I would feed the fry? Obviously I can’t specifically just feed the fry if they are in the tank along with all my other fish. Do they just find little bits of food themselves from what I will already be feeding the rest of the fish anyway? I will crush flakes into a very fine powder will that work?
But the other part of my question is that my fish never seem hungry. I am sure I must be over feeding for them to act this way but even if I don’t feed for a day when I do feed them they just aren’t that bothered.
I have new life spectrum 0.5mm pellets
Frozen blood worms
Frozen brine shrimp (not bbs, so I will be looking to get bbs as I think what I have is too big for some of my fish)
Hikari algae wafers
And a tropical fish flake
I’m not really sure what I am doing wrong I don’t feed a lot imo but I must be over feeding still otherwise they would be more ravenous when it comes to feeding?
I want to give my fish a good healthy variety of food so could anyone advise (very simply) how I should feed (i.e. should I do the new life spectrum pellets on a Monday, frozen blood worms on a Tuesday, starve maybe on a Wednesday, flakes on a Thursday, frozen brine shrimp on a Friday etc...)
Im sorry I know this sounds really dumb but I am struggling with what’s best when it comes to feeding!
Fish are:
Rummy nose tetra
Sterbai cory
Platy
Bamboo shrimp
Mega clown pleco
Nerite snail
