I've pondered this question for while now and I've never attempted it, but has anybody ever attempted to feed fruit to fish? I was thinking something lower on the acidic side, like apples, nothing citrus.
Was eating a banana when I tread this so I tried with mine and they ignored it so I took it out.
Banana is a no
mine attacked it and then spit it out and swam away. The shrimp under the cloud of spit was happy though cause it was something differenthaha that's funny! I TOO have barbs and they were all over it!!! Same with my zebra danios!

Oh man! I think I need to send my BARBarians to YOUR house!! mine eat everything, including but not limited to the paint off my decorations, the plastic plants and anything else that is in the tank!
Mine leave the decorations alone. You have some crazy barbs then lol. I'll stick with my "calm" barbs lol
I dropped some Malaysian trumpet snails in and one of the barbs had it in his mouth, swimming as fast as he can with the other 6 barbs chasing him! He finally figured out it wasn't edible and spit it out - then the rest of them tried it
Feed fruit sparingly, as the high sugar content can cause bacterial blooms.
hmm I wonder what would happen if I tried dragon fruit
I shall have to try it next time I go to the asian store... maybe some other weird fruit too... like leeche or mangosteneLast time I tried it, some fish went after it, most ignored it.
