Feeding Community?

I got my first 6 Cherry barbs in quarantine this past weekend. I have been feeding them NLS flakes with garlic. I crumble up two flakes for them in morning and evening. They like to wait until they get pushed down by the HOB filter. Is there a pellet they might eat? I have seen Northfin community pellets (0.5mm), micro pellets from Hikari, NLS pellets (1mm). I want to feed flakes, pellets, and freeze dried while in quarantine. And how many pellets should I feed?

Sorry, I’ve never had a community tank before.

I didn't have as much luck with pellets in my old barb tank that I had for years. I used to feed them lettuce that I would clamp down toward the bottom of the tank with magnetic algae scrapers. That was quite a treat for them. They also really like Repashy Community Plus Gel.

Oh hmm. Oh they like lettuce??? I will try that when they are in the big tank (they will go into a 55 gallon). I have never seen Repashy before although I’ve seen them mentioned on here

I found an old picture of my gold and rosy barbs eating their salad. They loved it! Ah, I miss those guys still. Good thing about organic lettuce is it's much easier to provide than the Repashy

That is awesome!! I was thinking of seeing if my BN Pleco liked lettuce and if the barbs do then it’s double the reason to feed. Yes I am planning on feeding organic as much as possible or freshly grown. Here are my Cherries in quarantine

I would just also add that frozen food will be a lot better for them than most freeze-dried foods. Frozen blackworms and daphnia are usually favorites for meaty foods.
