Feeding Bolivian Rams and Rainbows in same tank

Hi, everyone. I got 4 juvenile Bolivian Rams last night! I also have 6 Dwarf Neon Rainbows. Does anyone have advice on feeding the Rams? The Rainbows are SO quick to the food, that the Rams got virtually none of the frozen blood worms. I did stick my arm in the tank and placed some Bug Bites pellets on the sand. Scared the Rams away with my arm, but they did come back and a few found the food. Any tips from folks with a similar experience would be helpful. Thanks!

Add some at one side of the tank for the rainbows and then more at the other side for the rams. My rams have learned over time to come the surface for food. You could also get a pipe or something similar and place it into the water, allowing the food to sink through that to the rams.

When feeding my fish, I add the food to a small cup of tank water. Stir it about so it sinks. Then I drop it all at once. My fish grab some but some always makes it to the bottom for my rams and other fish down there.

or soak the food and use a syringe with a piece of airline tubing to direct it to the bottom.

Mine come to the top for flakes, bug bites whatever. I have some pig Von Rio tetras. They always seem to get some blood worms though. I just usually make sure they each get a cichlid pellet ( the small fish ones) when feeding flakes. My problem is its hard to get the pleco food. The fish swarm algae wafers and such.

Wide diameter rigid tubing cut to your tank depth, my rams get excited as soon as I drop it in the tank and are waiting for the tidbits to drop out the bottom! You can also just release what you want and leave the tube stuck in the substrate to lift and release a bit more. Hopefully the rainbow's won't yell "Charge" and get there first if you are feeding them from the top!
