I wonder if its an injury from one of the other fish? Cichlids and barbs can be aggressive, but hard to say without a picture. Could also be a bite that got infected.

Also, why are you running the temp 84F? is it for ick treatment?

I agree, need to see a picture

my featherfin has injured himself several times - piece of wood too rough and cut him ( I removed it & used a different kind) and trying to feed off the filter (HOB type) I swapped filter types.

The injuries healed over time. maybe 2 weeks at most.

Yea the newest fish was the krib and she is a bit of a bully although it seems like as the catfish is the largest fish he doesn't get messed with as much. Just the krib is territorial sometimes but she also has a small mouth. The acara is peaceful except towards food and never saw the barbs mess with anything but other barbs. Yes the temp is high for the ick been having ongoing issues with that even wondering if that would ccause the lesion.

I thought i did put the pictures on sorry. He hides often so it's hard to get a clear picture, he does frequent the wood and all the decor I will have to see if I can't find sharp corners then.
