Where are my 33 long fans? I used to have a 55 setup back in the day, and it was my favorite tank size back then. It was the most enjoyable tank I had had up until that time. Probably because it's a 4 foot tank. Now a days, I actually returned my recent 55 purchase for the 33. Ease of maintenance now is a really big thing to me and the shorter height definitely helps.

I've never seen one in person, but I bet it would be beautiful and, from what my imagination is telling me, would be quickly added to my wishlist! I haven't had a 40B of my own, but only because the only place I could keep one is occupied by the 75 lol...

I think a great size is between 40-50 gallons. A lot of the more common species of hobby-available fish can be housed in that size, it's not too unreasonable or unaffordable to do a high tech planted tank, a lot less stress maintaining water quality than a 5g. It's perfect size for a show tank in public spaces, like a living room aquarium.

I have a space issue...as in not enough of it....so 20 gallon long

I have a hexagonal which is a right royal pain in the rear muscles when it comes to maintenance

If I had space I would like a 300 litre....or without space one of those really tall column aquariums....in the corner, by the sofa, next to the potted Ficus.... Keep dreaming girl...ain't going to happen
I’m loving this thread as I’m curious what people are saying.
Why is the hexagon shape a pain regarding maintenance?

I’m new to this hobby, but feel like the Fluval flex 32 is the perfect size for a beginner. But I will admit that on more than once I’ve wished they made it 10 gallons bigger, going longer instead of taller. So many fish possibilities....so few gallons....lol

They are too tall and narrow.

I like my 55. It is just small enough to do water changes but big enough for bigger fish too.

They do have the 45 bow front. It’s only about 5 inches longer but it definitely provides more space.

I was planning 2 of them at one point but after the 1st tank got settled I was leaning towards 2x 32s. I love the way they look and function.

I did look at that one. The depth was a factor, because I think the filter has to hang off the back? The way it’s situated I have a clear side view, so side aesthetics was a factor. Otherwise that’s the one I would have gotten, it’s beautiful.

Probably due to shape and height. When I picked up my 33 long recently, I actually wanted the 40 long instead, but it was way too expensive! 150 dollars before tax for a tank that's only 7 more gallons compared to my 33 long that was 100 dollars! Yeah no thanks! But I really enjoy the shape of the 40 long. Personally I wouldn't want to do any tank under 30-40 gallons as a minimum.

A tank that I also think would be really cool would be 48x18x16. That would be a very cool tank to scape.
Seapora makes an interesting tank called a 60 regular. It's dimensions are 48x15x16 or something like that.

I have also seen some kind of weird frag tank recently at my LFS that was 48x24x16. Very cool footprint!

If you use the hob filter setup, then yes it’s best off the back. But you could adjust that.
Also I ended up with a canister for it that’s cycling now with the hob. Would be very easy to move the canister hoses.

Also if you took the lid off, which I think it’s much better looking without, you could do whatever you wanted with attachments very easily.

I wish it was a bit wider vs. taller but I’m still extremely happy with it. As I am with all my fluvals.

I think that jinjerJOSH22 is one.
Nope, you're still confusing me with someone else

I do like my 33's though. The Roma 125 is aesthetically pleasing. 31x14x18.
However if I had to choose one of my tanks to keep it would be my 63, 47x15.7x21.6. There's just so much you can do with it

I love my 36 gal bow front, and I think it’s one of the most bought ensambles. SO MANY people have them! The always are 50% off so that’s probably why

I have had many different tanks . Still got a bunch .
Can't believe no else is all about the 29 g ? That would be the best all around tank for some one to buy and grow with before going 4 feet ..
I got a 33 long [nice ] and like my 55 that is below it .
I have 3 deep blue 'frag tanks that are 48X24 x12 inches [60g] and 16 inches [80g] .They are nice but hard to reach the back of easily ..

I've only ever had one tank at a time and so far 50 long has been my favorite. IIRC I've had a 30 and 20 previously. Maitenance is a bit harder moving so much water but there's more room for a beautiful aquascape and for the fish to swim about.

Favorite tanks to work with would be the 20 long, 33 long, 55, and 75.

I think the 40 breeders are a nice size, but I won’t be settling mine up until summer, so I don’t have any practical feedback.
I also like the dimensions of the 75s, lots of floor space.
Speaking of floor space, I’m super pumped to be setting up my 14 gallon cube - I have a love of cubes. I like how they have a more three dimensional space floor-wise than most tank. Most tanks are VERY two dimensional, made for viewing rather than fish comfort. The cubes just feel more natural, and they enough upper swimming space still, unlike the longs (20,30,33,etc). Someday I hope to have some larger volume cube honestly.

Of my tanks I have set up and running right now, my 29 is my favorite. Though for the bettas the 10s are my favorites

The Ohio fish rescue has a 500 gallon cube!

I don't really have a size preference. Depends what I want to keep in it. But I do prefer to limit the height to 18" for ease of maintenance. Might go to 20" if I was keeping Angels or Discus.

Did you miss a 0?
Their big tank is 4400gal.
IIRC they guy got it due to putting in a joke bid on it at an auction.

Ah I just found their video mentioning the 500.
I always think of their notable tank as the monster.

Honestly it depends. I've only ever kept 10 gallon or smaller but I would ideally want a 20 long or 29 gallons, not overwhelmingly big but still a lot of options. I could do more with aquascaping too.

I did not vote. Can’t say I have a favorite. At the moment, I have a 40, 29, 20 and three 10s. Thinking about trying a nano tank.

I said 10-20, considering 6 out of 9 of my tanks fall into that range lol
I just love how versatile they are, particularly the 20 longs. The only larger tanks I have are a 29 and a 40 (which isn't set up yet, but will be divided into 4 10 gallon sections lol). The 5 and 5.5 I have are just kinda too small. I feel like they're just not enough.

I can't exactly vote the poll since no dimensions are listed but the 33 long, 40 breeder, 55, and 75 are some of the best dimensions out there...

A 130 with my tank dimensions (2x4x2’) is my favorite size tank. Large enough for some larger fish but not so big that smaller fish would get lost.

55 gallons is perfect for almost anything.
