I already wrote about what I listen to in another poll on this board. Here is a copy of what I wrote:

" ... my favorite singers/bands. I generally listen to rock, but I'll also listen to other kinds of music. I love soundtracks and some classical music too (especially various piano and violin melodies).

OK, here are my favorite groups: Linkin Park; Aerosmith; Nirvana, Guns N Roses; Velvet Revolver; A.F.I.; P.O.D.; Audioslave, Switchfoot, Evanescence, Foo Fighters, a few songs of Bon JovI and Lenny Kravitz, System of a Down, and Vertical Horizon [...] some songs by Metallica; Sean Paul among reggae artists (I love his reggae style); Lauren Hill and Missy Elliot among hip-hop artists (I think she's very original). As for "more beautiful" music, I think Whitney Houston and Celine Dion have one of the most amazing and powerful voices in the world - I admire them greatly. As for the soundtracks: "The Piano", "The Phantom of the Opera", "Schindler's List", "Armageddon", "Pearl Harbor", "King Arthur", "Dirty Dancing", "Ghost", "The Matrix", "The Bodyguard", etc ... all have some really amazing music. As for classical, Vanessa Mae is a wonderful violin player.

As you can see, I am open to anything. I think every kind of music has its own beauty ... "

P.S. I also like some European dance music by Loona, Fun Factory, and some other groups (they're not really known in the U.S.).

Beatles, Simon & Garfunkle (or just Simon but not just Garfunkle), Lynard Skynard, Crosby,Stills,& Nash(with and without Young), Elton John, John Denver, The Byrds...and some new stuff by people I haven't bothered to learn the names of...I started having children when I was in my 20's and I'm in my 40's now and still always have at least 2 kids talking to me at home and in the car...so I pretty much am happiest without any radio going at all! ;D lol I played french horn in school for 12 years, and was in choir for years, and in school and church musicals for years so I love all kinds of music, really... silence is golden right now in my life...another reason I love my fishies!!

That's such a hard question! It totally depends what mood you're in really...
I'm a bit of a cheesy 80's hair-rock chick - I love Def Leppard, Rolling Stones, Extreme, Whitesnake, Kiss, G and R but I also love newer stuff like Snow Patrol, Razorlight,James Blunt, The Kooks, The Magic numbers, Alanis Morrisette, Matchbox 20, The Connells...blah blah blah. On other days I'm really into musicals - especially those by Andrew LLoyd Webber like Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express...etc etc!
I have a friend who's a d.j at a local club and every 2 weeks he puts on a 60's and 70's disco which is just ace! I also grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Niel Diamond, Peter Starsted, Chris de Burgh, Eva Cassidy...the list is endless!

I have everything from the Eagles, and when I was younger I went to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band so I like his earlier works but not the later stuff, I like Garth Brooks, and TI'm McGraw and Faith Hill and Cher and have most of Celiene Dionne. Some of those may not fall into the category you all are looking at but they are my music and I realize I am dated. I am an old fogey I know!
